Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger is to pay $10,000 a month for the upkeep of his child by Brazillian model Luciana Morad, following a New York court hearing.
The 56-year-old singer testified by telephone from London to confirm his name, and that he was the father of Morad's 10-month-old son Lucas.
A spokesman for the singer said that Morad, 30, who flew from Rio de Janeiro to New York to appear at the hearing, had originally asked for initial payments of $35,000 (�21,875) a month, but Jagger agreed to $10,000 (�6,250).

During the 10-minute hearing, Jagger addressed the Manhattan Family Court only to confirm his name and paternity.
He then handed the phone to his solicitor, who conducted the rest of the hearing for him.
His spokesman said: "The judge ruled there would be a $1000 temporary monthly payment for her to tide her over during the hearings.
"The $10,000 dollars a month that was awarded seems an appropriate sum, and we hope these matters will reach swift agreement."
The next hearing will be sometime in May.
Paternity tests in July 1999 showed Jagger was the father of Lucas, who was born the previous May.
Jagger has six other children; Karis, 29, by singer Marsha Hunt, 28-year-old socialite Jade by his former wife Bianca, and four children with model Jerry Hall.
He split up with Hall last year after a court ruled their 1990 Hindu marriage in Bali was not valid under English law. The couple remain friends.
